The Best Comfort Food I’ve Ever Pinned

I love Pinterest for finding new recipes! Scroll through the best comfort food I’ve ever pinned. Be sure to read the descriptions. I don’t always follow recipes exactly and I noted my changes in case you want to try them.

Chili Cheese Dog Bake

My husband loves this casserole. When I make it, I don’t use canned chili. I make my own simple chili with ground beef and McCormick Hot Chili Seasoning.

Slow Cooker Zuppa Toscana

I substitute kale with spinach and use Jennie-O Hot Turkey Sausage. You don’t even have to use the slow cooker because it’s just as easy on the stove top. This is Heavenly with warm crusty bread on a cold Winter evening!

Crack Chicken

This is a family favorite! It’s perfect for a party or open house because you just throw it all in, and it stays warm in the crock-pot

French Onion Pasta

A casserole that’s as comforting as the soup. This one has a lot of flavor and is easy enough for a weeknight dinner.

Cheesy Baked Zucchini Casserole

I’ve made this to bring to several Holiday parties. It’s a delicious side dish and it travels well.

Chicken Pozole Verde

It’s my favorite chicken soup! It’s got a ton of flavor and I love the texture of the hominy. I’m so bad though because I substitute the tomatillos with 2 jars of salsa verde. It tastes amazing anyway, I promise!

Baked Ravioli

It’s easy, cheap and delicious! That is all. ?

Rolo Pretzel Turtles

These are addicting and decadent, and they’re so easy to make! Put them in jars and give them as holiday gifts and put them on your holiday cookie trays. I make them even better by using praline pecans!

Ricotta Cake

This is one of those recipes that you might skip over because it doesn’t look pretty or even have a fancy name. But that would be a mistake because this cake is brilliant! It’s kind of like a cake and a custard all in one. It’s easy to make but tastes like you spent a lot of time on it. I don’t put powdered sugar on the top because it doesn’t need it.

Pumpkin Pie Pudding

Another great Taste of Home recipe. Taste of Home Magazine is one of my favorites for recipes. There’s always something good, and they have great photos. This stuff is so yummy and the kitchen smells great while it’s cooking.

Banana Pudding

This is an awesome banana pudding! Much better than the vanilla wafer version.

Butterscotch Delight

My husband is a little different; he doesn’t like chocolate. This is one of his favorite desserts. While I don’t agree with his opinion on chocolate, I will say that this butterscotch delight is quite delightful.

Pumpkin Bundt Cake

I don’t bake this one as a Bundt Cake. Instead I use a 13x9x2 pan, and split it into two layers. Then I fill and frost it with the frosting recipe from My Favorite Coconut Cake. It’s a great frosting because the texture and flavor are consistently great. Just change out the extracts to suit the flavor of the cake. For this one, I elminate the almond extract, and add a teaspoon of cinnamon and a 1/4 cup of brown sugar. The brown sugar gives it a slightly grainy feel.

For the cake recipe the only thing I do different is; instead of 1 teaspoon of nutmeg, I use 2 tablespoons of pumpkin pie spice. I know it seems like a big change but I HIGHLY recommend it! The cake is moist and spicy. The ultimate comfort cake to enjoy with a hot cup of tea!
