12 Crazy Good Chick Lit Picks

I love to read and I read a lot. I love historical fiction, romance, drama, and adventure. Mysteries and thrillers tend to keep me awake at night so I choose them carefully. And oh, how I love a good ghost story! But again, I have to choose the book and the timing carefully so that I can sleep!

I’ve listed 12 crazy good chick-lit picks here. But if the stories themselves don’t appeal to you right off the bat, take a look at other books written by these authors because they are all AMAZING writers! This is just a small sample of some of my favorites from them. Happy reading and please feel free to comment with some of your favorites.

A Woman of Substance

This is one of my favorite books of all time! Historical Fiction at its best. Emma Harte loses her family and her great love. But she pulls herself up and goes on to build her empire. You will be so inspired by her strength and determination!

Evening Class

I love everything Maeve Binchy ever wrote, God rest her soul. She draws you in until you genuinely care for every single character and never want it to end. This book will remind you how great it feels to embrace new people and experiences.

The Woman Who Stole My Life

Marian Keyes can tell a story! Her characters always end up in the most unique situations. She’s one author that consistently delivers and makes me laugh out loud!

The Year that Changed Everything

Cathy Kelly draws you in from the very beginning. She writes about life and family so well. Her characters are so relatable that you care about them long after you finish her books.

That Month In Tuscany

This is the first book I’ve read from this author and it swept me away! If you’ve ever considered running away from your life for a bit, give this one a try.

Outlander

I’m so glad I read these before it became a Showtime series so that my own interpretation of the story wasn’t tarnished by the TV version. If you like, romance, time travel, action, adventure, and history, you will not be disappointed!

A Summer Affair

If you’re looking for an amazing beach read, Elin Hildebrand ROCKS them! Add this one to your vacation or Summertime reading list. She will draw you in quickly with her uncomplicated and captivating writing style!

Winter Solstice

I so wish that Rosamunde Pilcher would have written more books. She’s perfect for those cloudy days in the dead of winter when you want to cuddle up for days and savor every word. Some of her books are not available on Kindle but that’s okay; buy the book! She’s totally worth it!

Years

This book is just a nice story. The same as every other book that LaVyrle Spencer ever wrote. It’s a beautiful Historical Romance. And just like all of her stories, it will stay with you long after you put the book down.

Evergreen

Find yourself a cold, cloudy day and a big comfy chair. Then, make yourself a big cup of tea and dive in. This is the first, and my favorite, of the five books in the Werner Family Saga. You have to read this.

Here Come The Girls

I love cruises. I love being on them, talking about them, thinking about them, reading about them, you name it! This is a fun and easy read that you’ll enjoy! Take a look at Milly Johnson’s other books too. She’s great for when you want a light and breezy escape!

Marriage Vacation

This made the list because I love when a book makes me feel lots of things. Part of me judged the main character for being incredibly selfish while the other part admired her courage. There’s a connection between this book and the TV show Younger. I’ve never watched the show, but highly recommend this book!
